Press release
There’s a new look and feel for Infoscreens at Ströer Infoscreen, a subsidiary of Ströer Out-of-Home Media AG, which is showcasing new program content and a revamped design for the moving-picture medium. As of now, the Infoscreen information and entertainment program comes with additional regular features and an updated design.
“The redesign has made the medium considerably clearer and more dynamic. It goes without saying for us that we always keep our image up-to-the-minute and harness the most recent technological developments to give viewers a lively, friendly and up-to-date experience”, says Kai Thäsler, managing director at Ströer Infoscreen. “Our advertising customers’ requirements have taken great strides over the last few years: They are looking for more flexible and creative ways of using media to realize their advertising campaigns. Infoscreens are perfectly placed to meet these needs, thanks to their short reaction times and the up-to-the-minute technology they use.”
The Infoscreens, which have been revamped to feature an entirely new look and feel, present an attractive mix of the latest news, lifestyle and culture tips, weather forecasts, cartoons and lots more. The redesign of the medium’s visual presentation centered on elegance, flexibility and clarity, cutting out unnecessary elements to foreground key design features. Ströer has focused on space and elegance rather than size and color, allowing text, videos and images to take center stage still more clearly than before. The individual elements of the design are connected by means of attention-grabbing animations. Short section headings act as teasers for each topic area.
The established set of regular Infoscreen feature categories has been joined by some new additions. Ströer Infoscreen is working with National Geographic to present viewers with “Scenes Across the World” (“Schauplätze der Erde”), while the feature “Kids’ Time” (“Kinder, Kinder”) entertains little ones with familiar Disney stars. Other new features include “Music & More” (“Musik & Mehr”), “Language & Culture” (“Sprache & Kultur”), “Earth TV” and “Marine Adventures” (“Meerabenteuer”). Furthermore, the Infoscreen “Screenman” will be making his debut as the viewers’ guide to the program and a likeable link between individual features. The Screenman finds out about the weather, quotes famous personalities or tries to find answers in the “Puzzle while you wait” (“Warten & Raten”) feature. All in all, he’s a unique and welcome source of entertainment for all viewers.
The Screenman will be taking his first bow at the same time as the new program, on September 27, 2011.
For almost 20 years now, Infoscreens have been helping suburban rail and subway passengers while away the time waiting in stations and providing them with information, entertainment and advertising content. This unique medium has successfully bridged the gap between moving-picture media and conventional out-of-home advertising. People’s viewing habits and media use behavior have shifted massively over the past 20 years, and the information featured on Infoscreens has always kept pace and moved with the times: Whereas in the early days, the content was largely delivered in still images and simple animations, today’s info screen is a technically flawless moving-image show featuring an ideal mix of high-quality animation and stunning HD videos.
