Press release
DIE ZEIT, Handelsblatt, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Tagesspiegel, WirtschaftsWoche and Ströer, together with around 500 companies, foundations and associations, are taking a stand against right-wing extremism and committing to freedom, diversity and a welcoming culture with their "#Zusammenland - Diversity makes us strong" campaign.
The campaign starts tomorrow with a double-page spread in newspapers and on digital outdoor advertising throughout Germany. After the launch, the motif will continue to be used in newspapers, in public spaces and on the social web.
The publishers and media companies are offering companies, foundations and associations the opportunity to integrate their logo into the ad free of charge. In return, the organizations are asked to donate to charitable projects or internal company campaigns. Newspapers and media companies provide advertising space worth several million euros.
The campaign was launched by Rainer Esser (DIE ZEIT), Gabriel Grabner (Tagesspiegel), Christian Schmalzl (Ströer), Andrea Wasmuth (Handelsblatt Media Group) and Christian Wegner (Süddeutsche Zeitung). The Managing Director and the Managing Directors agree with the participating partners: "Openness to the world, respect and community are values that make Germany not only a country worth living in, but also an economically strong country. That is why we stand together for an open country that courageously faces up to difficulties."
