newly created position of CMO assumes overall responsibility for nationwide marketing at Ströer media group / more focus on convergent offerings and products
Robert Bosch has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) of Ströer SE as of February 1, 2016. He will assume overall responsibility for nationwide marketing at Ströer. His tasks include ensuring that all marketing units maintain a consistent presence on the German advertising market. In addition, this newly created position will ensure that convergent offers and products are pushed across Ströer’s entire portfolio. In this capacity, Robert Bosch will report directly to Christian Schmalzl, member of the Board of Management of Ströer SE.
Robert Bosch, 43, is currently global Chief Sales Officer at ad tech company Sociomantic Labs in Berlin. He also held management positions at various other companies including Google Deutschland, Groupon and Axel Springer.
“The boundaries between media are becoming increasingly blurred. Our customers and agencies are also taking a more cross-media approach and want to focus on large media partners. Ströer is currently one of Germany’s largest media companies and we think now is the right time to utilize the momentum in cross-media sales to a greater degree,” says Christian Schmalzl, COO of Ströer SE. “Robert has extensive expertise in both traditional marketing and digital marketing. He also brings the relevant experience required to bring both worlds – traditional and digital – together under one marketing organization. This makes him an ideal fit for the newly created position of CMO. We also plan to address the growing demands of our customers and agencies more efficiently and integrate our offers more closely.”
