Ströer becomes official media partner of sports charity Deutsche Sporthilfe

• Support for campaign “Your Name for Germany” • Ströer to sponsor six young sporting talents • Jobs and internships for all sponsored sportspeople

Ströer and sports charity Deutsche Sporthilfe are to intensify their existing cooperation and have signed a media partnership contract. The partnership, which will initially run until 2013 and whose aim is to raise awareness of the foundation's objectives, involves Ströer directly supporting six sponsored sportspeople; additionally, both organizations will be involved in each other's media communications over the next two years.
The new sponsored sportspeople, Charlotte Bauer (triathlon), Benedikt Wagner (fencing) and Stefan Windscheif (beach volleyball), attended the partnership's launch in Cologne to give the 450 employees at the location a real-life impression of their sport. Ströer's design park displayed  motifs for the poster campaign "Your Name for Germany" which will be seen across the country in 2012.

"The partnership is the result of the excellent, creative work which Ströer and Deutsche Sporthilfe have done together in the past and which we are now advancing to a new level. The benefit of the partnership to us is crystal clear: Our mission and specifically our campaign for donations, "Your Name for Germany", can only reach a large number of sports fans and other people if we have capable, high-impact partners who are committed to spreading our message", explains Dr. Michael Ilgner, chairman of the charitable foundation Stiftung Deutsche Sporthilfe.

"The professional support of our new media partners in bringing our foundation's objectives to the attention of a wider public is a key component of a successful future for Deutsche Sporthilfe and those who support it." "We view timeless sporting values such as fairness, team spirit and determination to deliver excellent performance as important in working life, and these values have a firm place in our corporate culture. It's for this reason that we want to support Deutsche Sporthilfe's mission even more actively than we have so far, and are looking forward to helping bring the "Your Name for Germany" campaign to as many people as possible", says Alfried Bührdel, Deputy Chairman of Ströer AG, commenting on the new cooperation.

Along with its use of all forms of out-of-home advertising for the campaign and its support for the young sporting talents, Ströer wants to get its own employees on board with the campaign: The company calls upon all of its employees to get involved with the "Your Name for Germany" campaign and support its aims. Furthermore, Ströer will also be providing direct support to the young talents promoted by Deutsche Sporthilfe, offering all of them jobs and internships and covering the sponsorship of six up-and-coming young talents as part of the sponsorship scheme for the future sporting elite.

The sponsored sportspeople are as follows:

Tom Barth (three-time junior world champion, biathlon),
Charlotte Bauer (won silver at junior world championships, triathlon),
Fabienne Deprez (European junior champion, badminton), Lisa Schmidla (world junior champion, rowing),
Benedikt Wagner (world junior champion, fencing),
Stefan Windscheif (European champion in under-23 category, beach volleyball)

The partnership also entails Ströer's involvement in Deutsche Sporthilfe's media work and events by means of communications measures.
